Magnolia Pictures is the distribution arm of Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban’s 2929 Entertainment. Formed in 2001 by Bill Banowsky and Eamonn Bowles, Magnolia’s releases have included, among other films, the Academy Award nominated documentaries Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, Capturing the Friedmans and the record-breaking documentary Control Room. Mr. Banowsky previously worked in the radio industry, serving as executive vice president and general counsel of Capstar Broadcasting, Chancellor Media and AMFM Inc. At Capstar he led merger and acquisition efforts, consummating the acquisition of more than 300 radio stations in approximately two years, including three publicly traded radio companies. Mr. Banowsky graduated from SMU School of Law in 1986 and practiced law for 10 years in Dallas, Texas prior to joining Capstar. |
